Seems my boys were standing on my bag, which had the camera inside. I opened it up and found the top bit of the lens squashed into the lens barrel. Yikes! Well, at least it was only a cheapo lens, but still it will be sorely missed. Back to my klit lens for now

Thanks! As for the 50mm, well, I guess it could've been worse and now I have a good excuse to try the "thru the lens" style of photography (if that's the right terminology) :)
