The LX-3 is an extremely capable low-light photography camera. The following shot was taken without a tripod with the following settings:

Exposure: 0.033 sec (1/30)
Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 5.1 mm
ISO Speed: 80

There is not enough ambient light to light up the subject's face. try to find a spot that is slightly brighter, or as a last resort - the flash.

(For landscape shot u can increase exposure time. For sure u need a tripod. But such place, u will noticed over expose at the brightly lighted places. This is the limitation i guess for pro-sumer. Else post process after that since lx3 can take raw.

For portrait, flash might be slightly strong on the complexion. sometimes might have adverse effect not very nice already. Risk of long exposure is that photo might be blur if u model moves ... Hmm like the reply, go to the lighten up location, pump up ISO but be prepared to get grainy pictures. Else u try different scenes in LX3 ... i quite like using pinhole with flash, softer effect.)

The 24mm focal length of the LX3 lens is one of the most important and attractive features of the camera. For the following shot, the lens was set to 24mm to capture the reflections from the building and trees.
