Nikon AF 80-200F2.8... definitely one of the must have range in all photographer's asenal, it does everything from thin depth of field, beautiful bokeh wedding and portrait shots, to events and sports, to street shooting. Unless you already have the 70-200F2.8VR, otherwise this lens is a must get, why so? because you are getting very good optics for just abit more than 1/5 the price compared to a brand new current model lens such as the 70-200VR2 at $3200. This lens is Very very sharp. feel free to come compare it against other more exp lens like the 70-200VR and you will see for sure. This model makes use of high quality nikon ED glass (2 elements in fact) and thus maintain good flare resistance.
This is a one touch AF version. Note that there are 2 versions of one touch commonly found, this is the earlier version, with the later version branded as AFD. In terms of image quality, this version is just as good as the AFD versions (both one touch and two touch), the only significant enough disadvantage will probably be the slightly slower focusing speed, but many people do not factor in as compensation, is its very versatile focus limiter ring, with gives you 4 options, Macro to 3m, macro to infinity, 3m to infinity and 5m to infinity, now this is very good when shooting far objects, because it greatly cuts down the amount the focusing mechanism to turn when the lens starts hunting. Compared to current AFD and AFS selling in the market, the main disadvantage is the lack of tripod collar. From our tests conducted, it is very sharp wide open F2.8, even with a kenko tele plus 2X TC at 400f5.6 its still sharp. This lens is in mint condition.
